Walton Liles advises a wide range of companies on regulatory and legislative policy matters and government investigations, with a particular focus on capital markets and corporate governance issues. 

Mr. Liles previously served as Senior Counsel to the House Committee on Financial Services, where he advised the Committee's Republican Members on capital markets issues.   He also previously served as Vice President of Federal Government Relations at Fidelity Investments, where he advocated for and promoted Fidelity’s public policy interests before Congress and financial regulatory agencies. 

Before working for the Financial Services Committee, Mr. Liles worked in the Washington office of Goodwin Procter LLP, where his practice focused on financial services litigation and government investigations. Prior to joining Goodwin, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel F. Dubina of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Liles is a member of the American Council on Germany and the American Enterprise Institute’s Enterprise Club.  He previously served as a Washington Fellow at the National Review Institute and as a Young Leader of the American Council on Germany. 

Mr. Liles received his B.A. in History and Economics from the University of Virginia and his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school, he served on the Managing Board of the Alabama Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
